The repetition of running can cause over-use type injuries. Dunedin Hospital's Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic can offer a dynamic assessment providing you with a diagnosis and advice on how to best treat the condition, allowing you to continue training or get you back running as soon as possible.
The Chartered Physiotherapists are highly qualified with more than five years experience and registered with the Health Professions Council. The department works closely with consultants and GP's to ensure that patients receive a highly focused course of treatment and care tailored to patient's individual needs.
There is rapid access to consultants and diagnostic testing if required.
If using health insurance you will need a referral from your GP and must contact your insurer prior to attending for physiotherapy. A referral is not required if you are self-funding your treatment.
The initial appointment is one hour and follow-up sessions are usually half an hour in duration.
