CLIC Sargent - Caring for Children with Cancer CLIC Sargent

CLIC Sargent:
Every 24 hours, 10 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer or leukaemia. From that moment on their lives will never be the same again. CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity is there for each family, caring every step of the way. We look after children and young people with cancer and leukaemia and their families through nurses, social workers, homes from home, research, financial support and advice, and holidays.

Fire Services National Benevolent Fund
FSNBF

Fire Services National Benevolent Fund
provides a range of services that preserve the quality of life for serving and retired Fire Service personnel and their families. These services include recuperation centres in Devon and West Sussex, a therapy centre in Penrith and Devon dedicated to providing intensive physiotherapy following injury, and help for widows and orphans of Fire Fighters who have lost their lives. In 2006 the Charity opened the Harcombe House Therapy Centre near Exeter, as a result of a successful £2.2 million appeal. But this facility and Beneficiary Support programme, provided by the Fund costs a staggering £7 million every year.
All of this income is generated through fundraising ventures such as the Asics Reading Half Marathon.
